How We Came to Be
Lady of the Lake Temple was founded by a small circle of dedicated practitioners who shared a vision: a welcoming, legally recognized sacred space where all who seek the wisdom of the Pagan and Wiccan traditions could gather without judgment.
Incorporated as a religious nonprofit, we have grown from that intimate founding circle into a thriving community with members both local and across the country. Our name honors the Lady of the Lake — the mystical keeper of sacred wisdom, the giver of gifts, and the guardian of the threshold between worlds.
Today we continue that founding mission: to be a lighthouse for seekers, a home for practitioners, and a living temple to the sacred mysteries of the craft.
Our Core Values
Inclusivity
We welcome all who seek in good faith — regardless of background, experience, gender, orientation, or tradition. The sacred is for everyone.
Reverence for Nature
We honor the cycles of the earth, the turning of the seasons, and the living world as sacred. Our practice is rooted in deep respect for the natural order.
Personal Sovereignty
We believe each seeker's path is their own. We offer guidance, community, and wisdom — never dogma. Your journey belongs to you.
Sacred Community
We are stronger together. We support one another through ritual, learning, celebration, and the full spectrum of life's experiences.
Integrity & Ethics
We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in all our dealings — with each other, with the wider community, and with the sacred.
Lifelong Learning
The path of the seeker never ends. We are committed to ongoing study, growth, and the humble acknowledgment that there is always more to learn.
What We Believe
Lady of the Lake Temple draws from the rich well of Wiccan and broader Pagan traditions. We honor the Divine in its many forms — the Goddess and the God, the elements, the ancestors, and the spirits of place.
We observe the Wheel of the Year through the eight Sabbats, celebrating the turning of the seasons and the eternal dance of light and dark. We honor the moon through the Esbats, working with her cycles for healing, manifestation, and spiritual growth.
We believe in the interconnectedness of all life, the power of intention and ritual, and the responsibility that comes with working with sacred energy. Our practice is both devotional and practical — a living relationship with the divine, not merely a set of beliefs.
We are an eclectic and inclusive temple. Members bring wisdom from many traditions — Celtic, Norse, Hellenic, Kemetic, and more — and all are honored within our circle.
